Assessing your growth environment

Whether leading your a company, a team, you family or yourself, John’s description of a growth environment is very relevant and serves as a great planning tool for the future as well as a scorecard for the present.

Take some time to evaluate and score your current growth environment by answering the following questions. Score each question from 1 to 10, with 1 being a firm NO and 10 being an excited and passionate YES!

Are others in your circle, team or company ahead of you in performance, experience or influence?
If you scored 5 or above, what are you doing to seek a mentorship from one of these people in the area you need to grow? Take action!

Are you continually challenged in your environment? Are you learning new things? Are you mentally tired at the end of the day? Does your leader ask you to take on new projects?

Are you focused on moving forward? Does the future excite you?

Is the atmosphere affirming? Do your fellow teammates and supervisor encourage and inspire your work and growth efforts? Is it a
