Leadership Transitions - Leadership in Action Application:

I’ve been through four leadership transitions in both small and large organizations. I’ve been the new leader coming in as well as the outgoing leader turning over the reins. It makes no difference whether your transition is within a church, a small business or a large organization, as John teaches it takes a lot of planning.

Here are a few application points to support what John has taught us in this lesson. Keep in mind transitions happen at every level within the organization. These tips can apply wherever transitions occur.

Follow the Scout Motto, “Be Prepared” – It’s best to prepare for leader transitions when the pressure to implement is not your current state. Who could you start preparing if you were to leave your leadership responsibilities within the next twelve months? Do you have strong leadership potentials coming up the ranks? If yes, start grooming them today.
