What a fun lesson to listen to, as I guess all of John's are, but this one I think you will find just as fun to execute as it is to learn!
I've used Now, Discover Your Strengths by Marcus Buckingham since it was published in 2001. When I first took the evaluation and saw my results, it helped me understand why I was wired the way I was and why I probably drove some people crazy. For example, I am an Activator while my former boss was a Learner. He would deliver a good book to me about every two weeks. While I liked receiving books he felt were good reads, I didn't find the same pleasure as he did in reading the book. I did, however, find great pleasure in taking action on what I read. My activator strength would kick in with one book about the time he would bring me a new book to comprehend. Since we were aware of each other's strengths, it was fun to communicate with him on how we could work together. We would joke around about my desire to act before he gave me another book to read. As a learner he found satisfaction through reading and learning about new ideas or strategies. As an activator I found satisfaction in the movement and in pulling off those ideas or strategies. The
