“A Great Work”Lesson Application from Linda Sasser
"You don't need to save the world but you do need to make a difference." John Maxwell
When applying John's principles, I love to take something he's said, like this quote, and figure out how to give it legs - how to move it, how to live it, and how to make it happen so that it becomes more than just an inspiration in my head.
Isn't it interesting how there are times where we feel that what we do isn't great work unless a mountain is moved or the "world is changed?" My challenge to us as business leaders is this... make your people your mountain, make your team your world. Focus on making a difference in their lives. If we impact those around us then they will impact those around them. As this process multiplies then maybe you could be a tiny piece of "saving the world." This same mindset also applies in our home with our families.
I know I've brought this subject back to the people aspect but I find it difficult to do great work without people being involved. Perhaps there is a great work that doesn't involve people or doesn't help people in some way, but I can't think of it. Can you?
Have you figured out your great work yet?
I'm not sure if I've finalized what my great work is
