What a great message this would have been for me to hear when my husband and I started our business many years ago! We were young and green but full of passion, energy and vision. As a successful entrepreneur for 15 years I want to validate how true these questions are. If you are thinking of starting a business, take the time to read and evaluate these 12 questions as John suggests. If you have no intention of becoming an entrepreneur, DON'T STOP READING! I want to focus on you for this application.
Now that I have had some experience in the corporate world as an "employee," I have become quite passionate about stewardship. Why? I want my team to "feel" ownership without the risk and to know that they must become stewards of the company. I need their heart to be in it so they will help look out for the best interests of the organization and make smarter decisions. This single idea is probably one of the most underrated leadership concepts. Yet, when you get right down to it, a leader's ultimate responsibility is to steward the company, whether you own it or not.
